The Mint is hiring a Manager, Technical Services who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Director Operations, Minting & Technical Services, the Manager, Technical Services is responsible for ensuring the trade groups are providing effective support to the Winnipeg facility. The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of approximately 37 people.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing and motivating a multi skilled work force (Electricians, Millwrights, Power Engineers and Machinists) in supporting operational activities to achieve high efficiency performance and excellence
  • Find and implement opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiencies of processes in support of production
  • Managing the annual training plan to ensure employee’s development and technical skills required are available to support our technologies
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies, regulations, guidelines and best practices
  • Promotes and demonstrates the organizational values to create a positive and respectful working environment

Qualifications:

Languages

  • English proficiency is essential. Bilingualism is considered an asset

  

Education

  • University degree or diploma in related area or equivalent experience, trades ticket, or other related industrial / technical training also considered

  

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of related business experience in Industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Previous leadership or management experience required, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Operational experience and knowledge regarding Health and Safety in an industrial environment
