The Mint is hiring a Manager, Technical Services who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Director Operations, Minting & Technical Services, the Manager, Technical Services is responsible for ensuring the trade groups are providing effective support to the Winnipeg facility. The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of approximately 37 people.
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing and motivating a multi skilled work force (Electricians, Millwrights, Power Engineers and Machinists) in supporting operational activities to achieve high efficiency performance and excellence
- Find and implement opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiencies of processes in support of production
- Managing the annual training plan to ensure employee’s development and technical skills required are available to support our technologies
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies, regulations, guidelines and best practices
- Promotes and demonstrates the organizational values to create a positive and respectful working environment

Qualifications:
Languages
- English proficiency is essential. Bilingualism is considered an asset
Education
- University degree or diploma in related area or equivalent experience, trades ticket, or other related industrial / technical training also considered
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of related business experience in Industrial or manufacturing environment
- Previous leadership or management experience required, preferably in a unionized environment
- Operational experience and knowledge regarding Health and Safety in an industrial environment

- High degree of competency in verbal and written communication (English), ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications

- Ability to make decisions with sound judgement and execute on decisions with quantifiable results
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
